Amtrak Expands Its Gift Card Program

Whether you’re traveling for leisure or business, the gift of travel is always appreciated, especially with Amtrak gift cards now available at Amtrak.com, various brick and mortar stores and online retailers. The gift cards, which are available in physical cards and digital e-gift cards, are accepted exclusively for train travel purchases and can be redeemed on Amtrak.com and its mobile application, as well as in the station at Amtrak ticket offices and through Amtrak contact centers.

“Our updated gift card program provides friends and family with the opportunity to treat their loved ones with the unique experience of traveling across the country on Amtrak,” said Tim Griffin, Chief Marketing Officer at Amtrak. “The digital aspects of the e-gift card offer flexible and convenient access for our customers and align with our other recently unveiled and more modern amenities.”

Amtrak gift cards come in fixed and variable amounts, allowing customers to pick an amount between $25 and $500. Gift card denominations vary by merchant. When ordering a digital eGift card from Amtrak.com, customers can choose their gift card design between eight options, including cards relevant for an occasion (i.e. happy birthday, congratulations, happy holidays) with Amtrak logo, or featuring some of the best views of the country from an Amtrak train.

Cards may be applied at face value toward purchasing Amtrak tickets, products or services sold by an Amtrak station or contact center representative and online. With the exception of Amtrak Guest Rewards points, customers may combine gift cards with other forms of payment supported by Amtrak. Other terms and conditions apply.
