BOSTON TO KICK OFF FREE SUMMER FITNESS SERIES

This year’s series will run for four months, increasing opportunities for physical activity

On Thursday, May 31, 2018, the Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department will launch the 2018 Boston Parks Summer Fitness Series sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield.

The launch event will take place in Copley Square from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., and will feature free Zumba and line dancing classes. The launch event will introduce all that the series has to offer Bostonians this summer, including new classes like Carnival Fit, Cardio Dance, and Afrobeat Bootcamp.

Due to the program’s success, a full month of additional classes has been added to the three-month offerings of previous years. The Boston Parks Summer Fitness Series will offer 30 classes per week from June 4 to September 29, 2018.
