On Sunday, February 10, the local Knight of Columbus post held their annual District Free Throw Championships at the Walsh Community Center.
And the winners were: Noelle Haddad and Brigid Fitzgerald finished first and second respectively in the ten year old bracket. Phoebe Alto and Morgan White finished first and second respectively in the eleven year old bracket. Ella Welch was the twelve year old winner. Teagan Fitzgerald and Megan Harrison finished first and second respectively in the thirteen year old bracket. And Sara Galvin was the fourteen year old bracket winner.
For the boys division, the winners were: Max Donovan and Sean Costello finished first and second respectively in the nine year old bracket. Evan Pierce and Ian White finished first and second respectively in the ten year old bracket. And Ronan Manning finished first in the eleven year old bracket.
These district champs will compete in the Knights of Columbus Regional Championships on March 23 at Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury. The starting time is 8:30 a.m. The state finals will be held at Boston College in April.
