Lt. Morgan O’Brien Makes It Three

    Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence O’Brien are pleased to announce the commissioning of their son, Morgan F. X. O’Brien as a 2nd Lt. in the United States Marine Corps. Morgan was commissioned on Saturday, May 26, 2018.  He graduated from Boston College High School and is a 2018 graduate of UMass Lowell. Morgan will attend The Basic School in Quantico, VA before attending USMC flight school.

    Pictured with Morgan are his siblings, Brighid and Padraig.  All three grew up on East Eighth Street in South Boston and attended St. Brigid School.  Brighid graduated from Boston Latin School. She is a 2014 graduate of Fordham University NROTC and is a LT and Surface Warfare Officer in the USN stationed in San Diego, CA aboard the LSD USS Comstock.  Like Morgan, Padraig graduated from Boston College High School. He received an appointment to the United States Naval Academy and was commissioned in 2015. Padraig is a LTJG and nuclear engineer in the USN stationed in Norfolk, VA aboard the nuclear submarine USS Washington.

    The ceremony was held aboard the USS Constitution. The oath of office was administered to Morgan by his sister, LT Brighid O’Brien, USN and the officer’s sword was presented to Morgan by his brother LTJG Padraig O’Brien, USN.
