Signature Drive For Rep. Nick Collins A Huge Success

Representative Nick Collins’ Senate Campaign Headquarters at 666 East Broadway was bustling with volunteers, lining up to collect signatures for the special election for the State Senate, the result of the resignation by former Senator Linda Dorcena-Forry. Ms. Forry has decided to take a position with Suffolk Construction.

Over 1000 signatures were collected on Saturday in a blitz of activity, setting the stage for a very short campaign plan for the election on April 3.

Folks from Dorchester, South Boston and Roxbury dropped by to lend their time and visible support. Kathy Sawyer – “I don’t do this just for anybody. I usually just throw a sign on the house and vote. Today, I’m campaigning!”.  Michael McMurrough, owner of Astra Hair Salon and Annmarie of Hair by Annmarie, are shown here holding nomination papers for Nick Collins and have pledged support. The Flynn family was out in force and the Collins family as well.

Nick Collins stated, “It was heartwarming to see such an outpouring of support, especially on such a blustery winter day. I pledge to continue to bring the passion and leadership that has marked my career to date, to the expanded role of State Senator.”

Collins will present his track record and platform over the next few weeks to the residents and voters of the Senate District. He is looking forward to meeting as many voters as possible in a short time frame. Volunteers are welcome.
