St Peter Academy Breakfast with Santa

The Christmas season as everyone knows is Santa’s busiest time. As it gets closer to the big day, the jolly man in the red suit is everywhere; even before his toy delivery trek on Christmas Eve. He’s in every town for many events.  His magic allows him to pull off this incredible feat of multi appearances. But South Boston is fortunate indeed because here, Santa makes yet an extra special stop so he can have breakfast with neighborhood children and their parents. And true to form, he kept the tradition alive again last Sunday, at the South Boston Lithuanian Club Hall for the annual St. Peter Academy Breakfast with Santa event.

It all kicked off on time with a sumptuous breakfast fit for kings, shepherds and Santa himself who really does eat more than just those cookies left out for him. An incredible breakfast buffet of pancakes, French toast, bacon, sausage and pastries was prepared by an advanced team of elves with a bit of help from Academy staff and volunteers. There was even a cocoa bar set up for the kids complete with whipped cream, sprinkles and candy canes. There were games, crafts and prizes with Christmas basket raffles too. This was a fun gathering for both the kids and the adults and new friends were made as well on this day.

As promised, the big guy did arrive; complete with his smiling face, his jolly laugh and a whole lot of that Christmas spirit that he always brings with him where ever he goes. He made the rounds, met all the kids and their parents and of course, posed for pictures with everyone. The kids were having a great time, but truth be told, Santa seemed to be having just as much fun as everyone else. The St. Peter Academy Breakfast with Santa is one of those neighborhood traditions that is bound to be here for many years to come.

Local business people help make this event possible with their generosity and community spirit. Special thanks to John Gillespie of Dunkin Donuts, Dorgan’s Package Store, Blasi Café, Cranberry Café, Nurture Salon, The Beauty Bar, Paramount Restaurant and the Seapoint Restaurant.

Merry Christmas to all.
