GYM NOTES:
BATTLE FOR THE CUP YOUTH HOCKEY TOURNAMENT
During School Vacation Week, the BCYF Tynan collaborated with other BCYF sites and hosted a Battle of the Cup Hockey Tournament, for youth ages 7-12. The Leahy Holloran (Dorchester), Roche Center (West Roxbury), Tynan and Charlestown Community Center squared off in all day Round Robin Tournament. Many of the games were very close with some fine talent being displayed by all teams.
The BCYF Tynan went undefeated in all their games and faced the Leahy Holloran in a thriller Championship game. It was a hard-fought game with back and forth action by both teams. The Tynan took the victory by the score of 3-1. Mario Blasi played outstanding in net. His team mates played great defense against a strong Leahy team, holding them to 1 goal. Liam Long, one of the youngest players, scored some big goals to help his team to victory. The kids had a great time and had the Tynan gym “ Rocking like the Garden”.
