The 16th Annual Taste of South Boston

will be held at the Seaport Hotel on Sunday evening, April 8, 2018

The South Boston Neighborhood Development Corporation (South Boston NDC) will hold its 16th Annual Taste of South Boston on Sunday April 8, 2018, from 6 -9 p.m. at the Seaport Hotel. This event has become one of the city’s premier food events. For an entrance fee of only $55 in advance ($65 at the door), attendees can sample unlimited culinary specialties from 30 of South Boston’s top restaurants, tastes of a great selection of wines from Al’s Liquors and samples of the latest brews from Harpoon Brewery. Attendees will enjoy live jazz music provided by Lucky’s Lounge while bidding on outstanding silent auction items and partaking in exciting raffles.

 

This year’s event boasts an outstanding selection of restaurants from the traditional South Boston neighborhood, the South Boston Waterfront and the Fort Point areas including newcomers: Fat Baby, Kings, Lola42, Mastro’s Ocean Club, Publico, The Broadway, The Smoke Shop, and The Punk & Poet. Returning again this year are perennial favorites including: American Provisions, Blue Dragon, Capo, Cranberry Café, Coppersmith, LTK – Legal Test Kitchen, La Casa de Pedro, Lincoln Tavern & Restaurant, Loco Taqueria and Oyster Bar, Lucky’s Lounge, Local 149, Miam Miam Macaronerie, The No Name Restaurant, Roza Lyons, Sweet Tooth, Tony C’s, and Worden Hall.

 

The Taste of South Boston is the annual fundraiser for South Boston Neighborhood Development Corporation (South Boston NDC). South Boston NDC is a recognized 501c(3) non profit organization that has successfully developed over 200 units of affordable housing in the community. In 2016, SBNDC completed Patriot Homes, 24 affordable apartments for Veterans. In 2018, SBNDC began construction on 16 affordable transit-oriented workforce apartments at 206 West Broadway, designed to address the housing needs of local employees, including those in the nearby hospitality industry.

 

Proceeds from the evening’s event support the South Boston NDC’s mission to provide affordable housing for working people, families, elderly and veterans in the community. South Boston NDC also provides support to the South Boston Street Festival, the annual Christmas and Spring Stroll’s, Southie Trees and the South Boston Farmers’ Market. Support of this event will help SBNDC to continue to provide affordable housing and economic opportunities in the neighborhood.
