‘The Ollie’ Flea Market was a Rousing Success

There were a lot of big smiles on the faces of the folks who showed up to last weekend’s South Boston Neighborhood House huge Flea Market. Yes, as predicted, ‘The Ollie’ Senior Center really out did itself with tons of great items at fantastic prices. Clothing, furniture, kitchen items, sporting goods and a variety of other treasures far too numerous to list in one story were all there for the picking. The atmosphere at the event was very festive as it wasn’t just a time for shopping, but also a time for socializing with friends and neighbors and for meeting new friends as well.

The money raised at the flea market will go to help support the many wonderful programs the SBNH Senior Center offers.  This is one of South Boston’s finest resources and it offers services to hundreds of people and has been doing so for decades.

The two-day Flea Market stayed busy throughout the weekend as a steady flow of shoppers looking for bargains on good merchandise kept the place hopping throughout. But something that many found so satisfying, in addition to the purchases they made, was the fact that they helped support a good neighborhood cause – ‘The Ollie’ Senior Center.

Well done to all the organizers and volunteers who worked so hard putting it all together and making sure everything went off like clockwork. As far as flea markets go, this was by far, one of the very best ever – anywhere.
