Hospitalized Female Veterans to be Honored

Let’s Show our Support for their Service

On Wednesday, May 30th, 2018, some folks from the Old Colony Yacht Club will proudly be taking a group of 25 hospitalized female veterans from the VA on their boats out into Boston Harbor to be honored with a special recognition of their service to our country.

The members of the yacht club will be transporting the veterans to meet up with the Boston Fire Department fire boats, where they will receive a colorful red, white and blue water cannon salute.

The veterans and their hosts from the Old Colony Yacht Club will depart from the club’s docks at 11am and are expected to be in the area of Castle Island by 11:30am. They will be honored by the Boston Fire Department Boats at that time, and it can all be seen from the fishing pier/dock on the same side of the island where the turnaround of The USS Constitution traditionally takes place.

It’s hoped that residents will turn out to cheer these great female veterans on from the shore and pier with flags, signs and banners to show how much they are appreciated and to thank them for their service.
